Women’s Adventure Race Galway

Women’s Adventure Race Galway, now in its 5th year, is Ireland’s first and only women’s adventure race. It offers a fantastic opportunity for women to come together and achieve a personal goal on this spectacular course through rugged Connemara.
At 27km, the race course is the perfect distance for those new to the sport and a great training race for the more experienced athlete. The Galway event takes place around Killary Fjord at Leenane, Co. Galway and includes cycling, running/walking and kayaking. The terrain includes trails, forestry tracks, bogland, roads and the deep green waters of the fjord.

This race was created and designed by the mainly female management team at Gaelforce Events and was such a success that they now run a second women-only race at Roundwood, Co. Wicklow in September. The aim of the race is to encourage more women to take part in adventure racing and do something which they never thought possible!
